Between social events and tennis, I've fallen a little behind on my university work. It was worth it but I think with a week of focused work and a couple less hours in the dojo is in order this week. I am open to suggestions for study music or background sounds. My family can be a it noisy at times so I find it useful to have something playing in headphones recently.

Atobe, I just wanted to thank you again for hosting me after your party. Breakfast was especially enjoyable. Even if I still think it a bit ridiculous and over indulgent.

Yukimura, Renji, we should go out for a nice brunch to celebrate how hard you worked in Rakuten before you get swept up in another tournament.

ooc: Since the cat is out of the bag with Sanada and Atobe doing the dating thing, he thought he would prove that he is not dying of shame about everyone knowing or how they may have acted while tipsy any make a knowingly public comment to Atobe.

Apparently being busy isn't an excuse for not updating...

So...

I've spent most of the summer doing kendo workshops or competitions around Japan... with Niou. He seemed to always know where I was going and just invited himself along. It was more strange than annoying. He seemed to enjoy the trip and even found some nice cafes for us to visit. Though I have no idea what he did during the day as he never came to the kendo tournaments despite inviting him.

I also spent a fair amount of time watching my young niece and nephew since the current pregnancy is making my sister-in-law really tired. I even took them up to our cabin in the Karuizawa area and we enjoyed a fun few days hiking, fishing, and relaxing in the onsen.

I'm now on my way to New York for a kendo workshop there and of course the US Open.

ooc: Finally off hiatus. Feel free to poke me if you want to plot with the grumpy guy. And also, please pretend this post is backdated about a week so he'll actually arrive in time for the US Open.

Paris

I'm currently in Paris and enjoying it much more than I thought I would. It helps that many of my friends are here and there is plenty of good tennis to watch.

The flight over was interesting. I flew with Akaya and he spent most of the flight teaching me about these pocket monster creatures. Though as some of them are big enough to ride on, I don't see why they're called pocket monsters. Pikachu I was familiar wit but I didn't realize there were hundreds of them... and that they evolved... and got new names... I now know why Akaya has such trouble learning languages... his head is full of a million words from this Pocket Monster world.

I have agreed to give a few of the games a try and we installed PokemonGo onto my phone.

When not watching the tennis matches, I've been exploring some of Paris. Deschamps-kun has been recruited as my tour guide by Yukimura. I have to admit that he makes a good guide  And that he's not nearly as horrible as I had hoped he would be. We discovered a few great used clothing shops and some antique stores. He's also convinced he can convert me to a coffee lover. Japanese tea continues to reign supreme though I admit that a few pastries we've sampled have outclassed those back home.

He apparently has no interest in Turkish oil wrestling other than watching. So I'll either need to rethink my plans for what to do when he comes to Japan or convince him of the merits of wrestling.

It is my belief that anything started should be seen through until the end. Apparently this rule does not apply to certain people if cats are involved.

Niou came over the other day to play Go and to take in the garden. Unfortunately, we had barely made it five moves in when the neighbourhood cat decided to come and visit. I consider the game my win since Niou obviously forfeited when he went off to try and communicate with the feline.

I still gave him the fruit salad though. It would be unseemly for an OB of Rikkai to get scurvy.

Yukimura, I have looked into Turkish oil wrestling. It is an interesting sport indeed. And the required uniform is not nearly as worrisome as it sounded when you described it. Though I doubt your Deschamps would want to risk challenging me once we meet.
